| So Many Cats is a good
counting book from 1 to12. A girl has one lonely cat, Poke. Another cat,
Tammy, knocks on the door, so she takes it into her house. Tammy and Poke have three
kittens, Fluffy, Muffy and Smoke. A neighbor says she is moving away and
her cat is very friendly, but very, very old and can't handle the long drive. So she
gives the cat to the people with Smoke, Fluffy, Muffy, Tammy and Poke. The new
kitten's name is Kitty. Then Matt finds an ugly cat on the street and they name him
Pretty. Lee finds three cats on her bus ride home. They are city cats,
of course! The three city cats' names are Jenny, Penny and Bloke. That day two
cats follow Lee home from the grocery store. One is black, Night, and one is white,
Dawn. Now there are 12 cats! Overall, it is a good book for children in Pre-K
or Kindergarten. Winter 2002 |
