I have read the book Something Upstairs by Avi. It is a true story which is very interesting because it is about a boy who has a ghost in his closet. I would recommend this book to anyone between the ages nine and twelve. I would also recommend this book to someone who likes books about ghosts, vampires, etc. I would rate this book a nine out of ten because it is very exiting and it makes you want to keep reading it. I hope you read this book.

A young boy named Kenny Huldolf just moved from Los Angeles to Providence, Rhode Island. He is very sad to be moving and the sight of the little town and old house doesn’t help. When they arrive at the house, Kenny is very excited to find that his room is in the attic.

That night when Kenny is sleeping, he wakes up to a noise coming form one of the many rooms. Kenny thinks there is a ghost coming out of a box of his mother’s old books. He is so scared that he jumps back into his bed and hides under the covers.

This event keeps happening every night until one night Kenny asks the ghost why he is there. The ghost replies that he was a slave who was killed in that very room. The ghost asks Kenny if he would go back in time, find his murderer, and change the past.
