Title:  The Sorcerer's Companion:   A Guide to the Magical World of Harry Potter
Authors:  Allan Zola Kronzek & Elizabeth Kronzek
Reviewer:   Shelby H. '10

If you liked the Harry Potter series, then this is another favorite to add to your shelf! This book tells all of the secrets, creatures, and much more about the things in and about the Harry Potter books. You can learn all kinds of things like how to read tea leaves, how to get rid of a goblin, you can even learn about the three-headed dog, Fluffy! This book is packed with all of the unusual things that creep and crawl around Hogwarts. Did J. K. Rowling really make up Nicholas Flamel? Did she really make up all of those weird creatures like the grindylow or the feared Basilisk? This book will answer all of your questions about Harry Potter's world. The good thing is, each chapter is about a different creature or thing so if you really don't want to read about a cat since you already know what it is, you can skip it and not be clueless on the next chapter! Go in any order you want. One of my favorite chapters is the one about Arithmancy where you get to read your name to come out with your whole personality!

If you like Harry Potter but especially like the parts about the magic and the dangerous creatures, then this is the book for you! I would definitely recommend this book to Harry Potter fans but also to people who haven't read the books but like to learn or read about magical creatures and mystical objects. This is one of the books of mine that I couldn't put down. When I looked at the next chapter, I got so excited about what was up next and read it nonstop! I hope you like it just as much as I did!
