| When Steven Spielberg was a
little boy, he had a big imagination. In the first movie his father took him
to see, there was a train wreck. Steven saw the train come right out of
the screen and pop into his lap. Now Spielberg has become a famous director
and has made many movies like Jaws, ET the Extra-Terrestial, Schindler's List, and
Jurassic Park. He has received eleven Oscars for best film.
Steven Spielberg has made a lot of movies for children. Most of his movies have
monsters and aliens in them because it has helped him deal with childhood
fears. He has urged that awareness about the
Holocaust be heightened and that more courses on the subjects be offered in
schools. Spielberg does not want people to forget what happened to more
than six million Jews, as well as to other people with different religions, who were
not like Adolf Hitler and the Nazis during World War II.
Many of Steven Spielberg's movies have made record amounts
of money. ET made a record of $399.8 million dollars and Jurassic Park
made $900 million dollars. But the most important accomplishment, I believe, is that
he has contributed so much to the entertainment field by bringing us wonderful movies over
the last 40 years.
