| I recommend Throwing Smoke, by
Bruce Conville, to readers who like baseball. The book is about a boy named Mac who plays
on the worst baseball team. He is 12 years old and he also is the coach of the
team. He works at the printing press place. Then he makes these cards - the first
one is Ace Jones. Ace becomes the best pitcher in the leauge but they are still losing. So
he goes back and makes a great hitter named Diana. But their team is still making a lot of
errors. So then Mac makes Max and Marty, who are the best fielders in the league. But when
they lose Ace, Diana Max, and Marty all get mad. Read the rest
to find out what happens
