This book is about a boy named Rob and how he finds a tiger locked in a cage in the woods. Rob lives in Florida with his father in the Kentucky Star Motel. Rob is sent home from school because his teachers think the markings on his legs are contagious. He is not allowed to return until his legs get better. So during the day he works for his father at the motel. His friend, Sistine, who is new to the area brings him his homework. Rob begins to trust her and decides to show her the tiger. Sistine wants to free the tiger because she thinks that he is unhappy. Will Rob be able to get the keys to the cage from the owner of the hotel? Will they release the tiger?

I rate this book a 10! I loved the way it is written, even though it is a very sad story.

This book is about a family that lives in a hotel. One day the little boy goes out on a walk and when he is walking he sees a tiger. So, the next day in school all he can think about is the tiger. He draws pictures of the tiger, and talks to himself non-stop about it. When he tells one of his few friends about the tiger he thinks that she will just laugh and think that he is crazy. Well, she is so interested that she wants to go see it, and one day they do. At the end of the story they decide to take a ride on the tiger, and they find out it is a magical tiger.

I recommend this book to people who like adventure books.

Tiger Rising is a very exciting book about a lonely, mysterious, adventurous, boy named Rob. It is normal for Rob to arrive at home everyday with a black eye. One day a new girl, named Sistine (after the Sistine Chapel), comes to town. Rob and she become good friends, so good in fact, Rob shows Sistine his deepest, darkest secret. Rob leads Sistine down deep into the woods behind the hotel in which he lives, until finally Sistine sees his secret, the tiger trapped in a wooden crate.

Rob gets the keys from the owner of the tiger and instructions to feed it everyday. Sistine begs Rob to set the tiger free to roam about the forest. Rob does not know what to do. Read Tiger Rising to find out what happens next!

When Rob, a young boy, is wandering through the woods of Florida he spots a large cage with a tiger inside. He shows the tiger to Sistine Bailey, his friend. Knowing that the tiger is probably going to have to be shipped away, Rob and Sistine try to find some way to save the tiger.

I really did enjoy this book. I liked it because it was sad, and at the same time exciting. I recommend this book to people who enjoy books about animals.

The Tiger Rising is about a boy named Rob who doesn't have many friends in school. One day, he sees this new girl named Sistine at school and tries to become friends with her. That same day, the owner of Rob's apartment, Beauchamp, tells him that he has a tiger and that he wants him to feed him twice a week! So he gives Rob the cage keys. Soon, he invites Sistine over and he takes her to see the tiger. Sistine insists that they let the tiger go, but Beauchamp specifically told Rob not to open the locks, just the feed door lock for feeding time. Next, Rob takes Sistine back to see the tiger............ Want to find out what Rob does ... read this AWESOME book.

I would recommend this book to boys and girls. It has wonderful description and you never want to put it down.

I read this book in one day because it was such a good book and I thought  that I would submit this to super readers. This book is about a boy that lives in a motel room with his dad. His mother passed away and he hides stuff in his little box inside his heart until he sees this tiger and it kind of opens up his heart. When he starts school he meets this new girl and they get off to a bad start but the end this girl opens up the box.

Imagine if you had the keys to an enormous tiger's cage.  In the story, The Tiger Rising, a 6th grade boy named Rob Thorton gets the keys to a tiger's cage.  Rob's mother, Caroline, died and he lives with his dad in a motel named the Kentucky Star in Florida.  Rob gets his wish, the keys to the tiger's cage.  The keys and the tiger belong to a man named Beauchamp.  This man also owns the Kentucky Star Motel.  Rob Thorton also has a girl friend named Sistine Baily.  When Sistine finds out about the tiger all she wants to do is let the tiger go.

Does Rob set the tiger free?
Does he give the keys to Sistine?

You won't find out what happens until you read this book!!!!  I rate this book 5 STARS, 5 stars being the highest, because I like to read books about animals.

This also is the author of Because of Winn-Dixie

I read the book The Tiger Rising by Kate DiCammillo. This book is about a  boy named Robert, whose mother died. He is very lonely until he meets a new girl at his school named Sistine. In the same day he discovers a tiger locked in a cage which is in the woods.  The tiger belongs to the very selfish man named  Beachump that owns the hotel that his father works in and that he and his father live in. The first person that Rob tells is a woman that is a maid at the hotel. She tells him that the tiger is not his and that he should just leave it be. Then he tells and shows Sistine. Sistine is constantly pressuring Rob to open the cage and let the tiger free. But Rob is afraid to. Then Beachump shows Rob the tiger, gives him the key to the cage, and asks him to feed his tiger. When Sistine finds out that Rob has the key to the tiger cage she pressures him even more to unlock the cage. Rob doesn't know what is the right thing to do. Will Rob free the tiger or just let it be? Read to book to find out.
