| This book is a sequel to The
Cay. After Phillip gets off the island, he begins his journey to regain his
sight by having a surgical procedure done. At the same time the reader learns about
Timothy's past , from his boyhood dream of becoming a ship captain to the torpedoing of
the S.S. Hato. Phillip eventually returns to the desert island.
"I'd felt it, tasted it, smelled it, heard it. I'd seen it through Timothy's
eyes. Now I wanted to see it through my own." This quote from the book is very
touching to me. Spring 2002 |
