on thrilling hunts for treasure. In one story, Jacob Breyfogle is trying to cross Death
Valley. His horse diesand he has no food or water. He has to live on what is around him.
Then he sees pink rocks with veins of silver and gold in them. He grabs all he can fit
into his backpack and goes into town. He sells the rocks for a lot of money. When he tries
to go back there again, he can’t find the spot.
