The book I read is called
The Wanderer by Sharon Creech. This book is mostly for girls. It
shows that girls are as strong as boys. It's about a girl going on a
boat with all men and boys. All of them think that she is so weak but
she proves she's not.
There are some BIG
adventures along the way. They almost get killed. I'll let you find that
out.
I recommend this book
to girls.
Happy Reading,
Maggie S.

| Reviewer: Elizabeth W. '10 This book is a book by Sharon Creech, so if you like Sharon Creech's books
you will like this one a lot! It is about a 13 year old girl named Sophie who loves
the sea! She goes out on a boat called the Wanderer with her cousins and Uncles on a
voyage that she and all her relatives will never forget. If you like adventures, the sea,
and boats you will love this book I especially like the "Bumpy stories"and
the ending!

| Reviewer: Adrienne O. 08 The Wanderer is definitely one of my favorite books. On a scale
from one to ten, I would rate it an 11. It is an adventure book about a girl named Sophie
who has always dreamed about traveling across the sea in a boat. One day her uncles and
cousins decide to sail from Connecticut to England and they all agree to take Sophie
along. Sophie finds herself riding all the way across the Atlantic Ocean with her all male
crew: her three temperamental uncles and two impatient cousins. Along the way they
encounter many problems with their boat the Wanderer, and find out a few unpleasant
surprises about their interesting crew. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes
adventurous and suspenseful books.

| Reviewer: Stephanie A. '08 No one wanted Sophie on the Wanderer in the first place. Wanderer, the name
of that boat just gave Sophie that dreamy feeling she got while sailing. Sophie had loved
sailing from the start and when she found out that her three uncles and two cousins were
going to sail across the ocean on the Wanderer, she begged to go, too. Finally the men
agreed. Cody and Brian were the cousins that sailed with Sophie. During the trip
Sophie kept a journal and wrote down every event, so did Cody. But disaster struck when
the Wanderer reached the middle of the ocean, as far away from shore as possible! Huge
waves started to strike and the Wanderer was in need of repair. The people on board
wondered if they would live to see land again! While on board, with no communication to
anyone on land, these people found something in themselves that they never knew they had.
