I think that The Warm Place is
a really good book. The main characters are Jabila, a young African
slave, Ruva, a baby giraffe, Nelson, a chameleon, Rodentus, a royal rat,
and Troll, a young gray rat itching for adventure. Ruva has to escape
from a zoo and then get back to Africa, which is where her mother and
home are. I like the fact that in the course of the book, the
perspective kept changing from the animals to the Slopes', a family of
demons that want to control the world. I really want to read more of
Nancy Farmer's books, because she is a very descriptive author.
