Watchers
#1 Last Stop is about a young boy named David Moore who is about twelve years old. Six
months ago Davids father, Alan Moore, disappeared and David cannot understand why.
He and his father had a very close relationship. Because of the disappearance of his
father, David and his mother are asked to be on every news and talk show in the country.
David hates this, but that is not the problem. Every time David rides the subrail he gets
odd feelings and sights. In these sights David sees bright lights in the subrail. Not only
that, he sees a group of ghost-like people, and among these people there is one he
recognizes, his father. David tells his friend Heather about these visions (he found out
later that this was a big mistake.) Heather takes this news like a bomb about to explode.
She is determined to find out where Davids father is. Does she? You have to read the
book to find that out.
I would recommend this book to any one who likes Harry Potter, because I think this
book is very similar to Harry Potter. I also would recommend that you don't say, "All
books have happy endings. David is going to get back with his father and live happily ever
after with his parents," and then not read the book. Let me tell you one thing, that
is not what happens!
