characters, Ashleigh, Caroline, Rory, Mona, Mr. Griffen and Mrs. Griffen all lived on a
horse farm called Edgardale Farm. Ashleigh had her own horse named Stardust, that she
loved with all of her heart. Ashleigh’s family’s horse, Black Night, was stolen
by horse thieves. Ashleigh saw this horse being born and he was a very good runner. They
could get a lot of money from him, so this loss was horrible for her family. They tried
the best they could to get Black Night back. Then a horrible sickness swept through their
horse farm and killed a lot of their most valuable horses. This was very bad for their
family because their business was to breed racing horses. Worst of all, Stardust,
Ashleigh’s horse, was taken away from her much too soon.
