A lonely little girl named Sophie is found by the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) and they become best friends. The BFG is a dream blower (someone that "blows" dreams to kids as they sleep), and Sophie is an orphan. Together they try to stop the other not-so-friendly giants who eat humans.

Although the BFG seems like a little kid's book, anyone will enjoy this book.

Alexander H. The BFG Roald Dahl "BFG" stands for Big Friendly Giant. He is the only friendly giant in his giant world, so he runs away. He meets a normal-sized girl, Sophie, who is very lonely. They become friends. The book shows that anyone can become friends, differences don’t matter. The BFG was big and old and Sophie was little and young. There are many funny parts in The BFG. There is also a lot of suspense in the story. Bigger giants come to where the BFG and Sophie are living and terrorize the city.

You should read The BFG because it is exciting and suspenseful. 4/16/99

In The BFG (Big Friendly Giant), the characters are: the BFG, Sophie, the Queen of England, and nine other man-eating giants. The BFG is a friendly, smart, kind, funny and never-eats-people giant. Sophie, an orphan, is kind, smart and asks a lot of questions. The Queen of England is calm, kind and very friendly. The man-eating giants are mean, unfriendly and vile.

In The BFG nine man-eating giants take a nap then go out and munch on "human-beans" every night, every giant except for one. The BFG. The BFG is the Dream-Blower. One night while he was blowing dreams, a little girl named Sophie sees him. The BFG snatches her from the orphanage and takes her to Giant Country. There they become friends and make up a plan to capture the man-eating giants. Read The BFG to find out if their plan works.
