Bigger is about a twelve-year-old boy named Tyler who lives in 1865. His
father fought in the Civil War and hasn’t returned home yet. Tyler believes that his
father went with General Shelby to Mexico to continue fighting. Tyler sets out to find his
father because his whole family misses him. On Tyler’s way to Mexico from his home in
Missouri, Tyler meets a strange dog named Bigger. They continue on a long, dangerous
journey. I recommend this book because it is exciting and interesting. 1/7/99
