The Borrowers by Mary Norton is about little people who borrow from humans. The Borrowers live in every house. When Arrietty goes to borrow something, a boy finds her and he wants to know about her and if there are any more like her. After he talks to her, he lets her go. Arrietty decides that borrowing is not that great even though they are now friends. The boy helps Arrietty and her family by giving them things from a doll house that they need.
