Chester Cricket’s New Home begins when two ladies, who are walking in the woods, take a rest on Chester’s tree stump home. The tree stump collapses and Chester is left homeless. Many other animals offer Chester their homes, but Simon Turtle gnaws a just-right home in his own log for Chester.

I read A Cricket in Times Square, written by the same author, and really enjoyed it. I thought this book would be just as good, but it wasn’t. There were many chapters that I thought were unnecessary. Chester Cricket was not as entertaining in this book as he was in A Cricket in Times Square. I rate this book as a five, out of ten.
