Carlota is a young Spanish maiden, who lives on a 47 thousand acre ranch in Southern
California. It is called Dos Hermanos. Carlota grew up strong and brave and was not like
other Spanish women. At a very young age her father died and she was forced to run the
ranch all by herself. She had to take the place of her brother also. She defended the
ranch through drought season, men who slaughter her cattle and horses, and American
gringos who want her land.I liked this book because Carlota
showed that women can do anything men can do. I also like reading books about adventures,
this certainly had it.
