Charlie and his family (his mother, father, and all four of his grandparents) are excited about moving into the Chocolate Factory. But this time Charlie is going for a ride in the Great Glass Elevator. The family is taking a ride when Mr. Wonka let the elevator go into outer space! Luckily, they were supplied with oxygen, enough oxygen to last them for a while. They see the space hotel, USA, the first hotel to go into space. Inside, they encounter the horrible Vermicious Knids. They escape to their Knid- proof elevator, but the occupants inside the hotel are in serious trouble. So Mr. Wonka saves them all. Then, they go back to the Chocolate Factory where they experiment with Wonka-Vite (a pill that takes years off) and Vita-Wonk (a liquid formula which does the exact opposite of Wonka-Vite) and take a dangerous visit to minus land, where people are waiting to be born. Finally, at the end of it all, they take a wonderful visit to the White House.

If you liked the book Charlie And The Chocolate Factory you will love this book. It starts where the other book ends, so you do not miss a second. If you like the funny and silly words that Roald Dahl is famous for, you will like this book. It is action packed and full of fun. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. I like the way the story flows with words like "showlworth" and the "vermileious" kid. It is a story that all fantasy lovers will love and any fiction lovers will adore. So you have my strong recommendation to read this very good book.

The main characters in Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator are: Charlie, a clever young boy; Charlie’s father; and Mr. Willie Wonka, the chocolate bar maker.

In this novel, Charlie, his family and Mr. Wonka are riding in a great glass elevator. They accidentally go up too high and into space where they fight off evil aliens to save a space hotel.

Read this exciting, suspenseful book to find out if they succeed or not.
