| Title: The Clearing |

The Clearing was written by Dorothy Reynolds Miller and was published in 1996.
This story was about an eleven year old girl, Amanda, who stays with her Aunt and Uncle
for the summer while her parents looked for a new place for the family to live in
Minneapolis. During Amandas stay at her Aunts house, she tried to solve a
mystery with her cousin Nelson and her friend Cynthia. The mystery was to find out who
killed Bucky Mead who lived in the community, but was killed ten years ago. People think
the murderer was a man named Spook Wade because he was crazy. No one really knew though,
so how could they be so sure? Read the book to find out who
killed Bucky Mead. I liked The Clearing because it was fun to read. I recommend it to
anyone who likes mysteries because this mystery was difficult to solve.
