| Reviewer: Mandy F. '09 Shasta runs away and ends up with a horse named Bree.
Wanting to help the people of Narnia, Shasta must deliver a message to the King of
Archenland. With the help of his new friend, a horse, the adventure
begins. This interesting book is filled with adventure and
excitement. It is book number three in the Chronicles of Narnia
series. You do not have to read the first two books to follow the adventures of
Shasta.

| Reviewer: Illana R. '07 The Horse and His Boy is an adventure story about a
fishermans son, Shasta. One day a person comes to the fisherman and asks if he can
buy Shasta from him. The fisherman isn't really Shastas father so he said yes.
Shasta sits besides the persons horse, Bree, and realizes it can talk. The horse and
Shasta run away and a lion starts chasing them. Bree and Shasta meet another talking
horse, Hwin, and a girl named Aravis. Together they ride in to the city of Tashban. Shasta
is mistaken for someone else and is kept as a prisoner with the king and queen of Narnia.
Will he ever become free? Read on.
This is the third book in the Narnia series. In my
opinion, the other two books were more enjoyable.

| Reviewer: Eric S. '07 I did not enjoy The Horse and His Boy because in some
parts it is creepy and in others it is not exciting. One part that is spooky was when the
main character is at the "haunted" tombs; this chapter is long and almost too
descriptive, making it boring to read. I enjoyed the first, second and fourth Narnia books
much more than this one. I would only recommend this book to someone who wants to read the
whole Chronicles of Narnia series.

The Horse and His Boy was an exciting and fun book to read. My
favorite characters were the talking horses. The story was about an orphan boy who was
adopted by a lonely fisherman. When a rich man came to buy the boy, the boy ran away with
the rich mans horse. They ran to Narnia and on their way there, they encountered
many exciting and dangerous people and events. The Horse
and His Boy opens a new doorway into fantasy and adventure.
