| Reviewer: Lisa A. '10 I read the book I Am Regina by Sally M. Keehn. It is about a
10 year old girl named Regina who is captured by Indians with her sister Barbara. Their
Mom and brother are not at the house but her father and brother Christian are.
Unfortunately her father and Christian are scalped in their home in front of Regina and
her sister. Regina and her
sister are taken hostage in a forest and then separated into different tribes so all
Regina has is a two or three year old girl. She can't talk so Regina names her Sarah.
Regina, Sarah, and an Indian named Tiger Claw journey to a big village. There Regina and
Sarah get a family.
At first it is hard for Regina to adjust to the new ways of life.
Eventually she gets used to it. As Regina gets older she experiences sad, difficult, and
hard times. If you want to know the rest of it read the book.
I like how the author has put so much detail into it because it
makes the story more enjoyable. I recommend this book to anybody who is ready for thrills,
action and a great book!!!

| Reviewer: Austin A. '07 I
am Regina has a lot of feeling in it. There is a part in the beginning of the story
where she is captured, and taken from her family by a Native American tribe. As they
travel toward the village, she describes how her feet are so sore from walking. The first
night, she sits on her bed and wonders, if she were home, what they would be doing. She
imagines picking berries and gathering the corn with her sister. Some parts are scary, and
some are kind of gruesome.
Overall, I think it is very well written and it is a good
book.

I am Regina was about a girl named Regina who, with her
sister, was captured by Indians. She was taken to an Indian camp where she had to learn to
adapt to life as an Indian. To find out if she ever returns to her family, read the book. I
am Regina is interesting and action packed. It is also a good way to learn about the
wars between white men and Native Americans over land. 11/ 5/
