This fantasy book
is about a girl in her twenties, named Kate. Her father studies
whirlpools, and when they are visiting a lake they see something
very different, "The Whirlpool of Death." According
to legend, a ship lands in the lake with the last survivor of
the society to find Merlin's thirteen treasures. Kate unexpectedly
falls into the mysterious abyss one day, and ends up on a quest
to save Merlin's soul.
I recommend this
book to anyone who loves stories with endings that twist and
turn and are full of action. This book has mystery, suspense,
and will keep a fantasy buff reading for hours.

The Merlin Effect is about a teenage girl,
Kaitlyn, who visits a lagoon with her dad in California. They
are looking for a ship with treasure that is said to have sunk
in a whirpool. Soon, however, Kate discovers that there is more
to this story. The myth of the ship and the treasure somehow
connect with the legendary wizard, Merlin. Pretty soon Kate
and her father are thrown into a mystery and adventure down
beneath the waves.

The
Merlin Effect was a very good science fiction book. It
was about a girl named Kate who, with her father, stayed on
an island to study a sunken ship on the bottom of the ocean.
Her dad was on a quest to find the ship which was said to have
carried the precious and powerful horn of Merlin. Kate was sucked
into a whirlpool all alone. Her dad was sucked in too.
Find out how Kate and her dad got reunited
and how they saved the horn. I recommend this book because it
is exciting with non-stop action.
