I read the book The Music of the Dolphins by Karen Hesse. It is about a girl named Mila who gets separated from her family as an infant and grows up in the sea with her dolphin family.  When she is about 12, people find her and the government has people teach her to read, write, talk and to understand things about humans. The entire book is about her realizing she is a human not a dolphin and learning how to do things as a human.

I recommend this book to people who like interesting settings and books that make you think.

I read The Music of the Dolphins by Karen Hesse.  It's a diary of a girl named Mila.  She was raised by dolphins and is now trying to get accustomed to human life.  Doctors and researchers teach Mila language and music.  Mila is very interested in the recorder and loves to play it wherever she goes.  She also has a friend named Shay.  She lives in a special house where all the doctors, researchers, and Shay live.  She  learns that human life isn't all peaches and cream.  There are also rules, expectations, broken promises, and lots of locked doors.  The more she learns about the human life that she must lead, the more she longs for the ocean home that she can not have.

I love this book.  It's suspenseful, and very funny.

The Music of the Dolphins is about a girl named Mila who has been rescued from the sea. The doctors are informed that it is believed that when Mila was young, she and her mother were on a plane from Cuba that had crashed. They think that Mila is the girl who survived the accident. The doctors are very nice and teach her everything about being human. Mila feels like a prisoner and wants to go back to the sea with her dolphin family. The government thinks of her as a possession and has ordered the hospital to lock all of the doors. Mila has a father in Cuba but he is not allowed to see her because he is not an American citizen, and the government is not letting her go. What does Mila do? Does she ever get to live in the sea again? Read the book to find out what happens.

The main character in The Music of the Dolphins lived with the dolphins in the ocean. When scientists find her, they take her to another scientist who teaches her how to read and write. I think The Music of the Dolphins is an interesting book because the print in the book gets smaller as the girl learns more about living on land.

I think you should read The Music of the Dolphins if you would like to find out how the girl lives with the dolphins and how she learns to live on land.

Mila has lived almost all of her life with a group of dolphins. She can no longer speak, eat or act like humans. Mila is brought to America by a rescue crew and helped by two doctors, Sandy and Dr. Beck. Mila progresses and learns what the doctors teach her, but she longs to be home in the sea with her dolphin family.

Will Mila ever be able to be a regular human again?
