This is wonderful story about a girl named Jenny who meets a new girl in her class named Elsie. Elsie is really fat and she steals everyone's lunch money! Elsie's mother neglects her. She favors her sister and thinks that she needs to go on a diet so she doesn't give Elsie any money for lunch.  That's why she steals their lunch money.

Although Elsie is fat, she isn't stupid. In fact she gets straight A's. Jenny makes her a deal.  If Elsie helps Jenny to get better grades, then the money she gets for tutoring will go back to the people she stole money from. I thought this book is really good because it teaches kids to look at someone's personality and not their looks.

This book is about a girl named Jenny Sawyer whose class gets a new student Elsie, who is overweight. During the story Elsie loses weight and then makes friends. Jenny learns how unfair Elsie's life is because Elsie's mother favors her younger sister Robyn more. Their friendship grows and they help each other solve their school and personal problems.  A very scary situation comes their way. You can find out what happens by reading this book.

I really like this book and I think other girls might too.  I rate this book a 9 out of 10 because some parts move faster and some are very slow with more descriptions.

Elsie does not fit in with the other students at school.  She's overweight and a big bully.  Elsie doesn't have many friends because she steals everyone's lunch money to buy candy.  She is partnered up in math class with Jenny who is very upset. They can't stand each other in the beginning, but Elsie is a genius in math and she helps Jenny succeed.  So Jenny helps Elsie go on a diet.  Soon they find out they have a lot in common and become great friends.  This is a wonderful book!

Nothing’s Fair in Fifth Grade is about Elsie, a new girl in school, who doesn’t have any friends because everybody thinks she is really fat. Elsie’s mother puts her on a special diet so Elsie can eat only what is in her lunch box. When the children find out that Elsie is on a diet, Elsie starts stealing people’s lunch money to buy candy on her way home from school. She gets caught and has to stay in the principal’s office during recess so she can’t take anybody’s money. When the Scholastic book money is missing in the classroom, her teacher blames it on Elsie because she thinks Elsie would have taken the money.

I enjoyed Nothing’s Fair in Fifth Grade because it is fun and includes lots of description. If you read this book, you will find out what happens after Elsie’s diet ends and you will know where the Scholastic book money was.
