of the Sky is the touching sequel to A Day No Pigs Will Die. These books
contain the story of a Quaker boy named Robert Newton Peck. Rob has tons of troubles in
his life. An example is when Haven Peck (Rob’s father) dies in A Day No Pigs Will
Die. A Part of the Sky is about Rob taking after his father and taking care
of his family during hard times. Rob goes through droughts and the Great Depression when
the bank fails. Will Rob be able to go on or will he be left in the street begging for
money or a place to stay?
