a Star is about a 15 year old girl, Vicky, and her boyfriend, Adam, who decides to
have Vicky meet his grandmom. His uncle has gone to Antarctica and disappeared. Now Adam
is going to Antarctica to study the ocean and his grandmom is worried.
When Vicky turns 16, Adam’s grandmom gives her a very
big present. She knows that Vicky and Adam like each other so she gives Vicky tickets to
Antarctica! Vicky’s family is shocked, but they let her go. It is a once in a
lifetime chance.
Vicky leaves shortly after Adam and at first gets many
letters sent to her cruise ship. Soon though, the letters turn into warnings. The ship's
people are acting strangely. What is going on? You have to read the book to find out.
I read it because it is by my favorite author, Madeline
L'Engle. If you like mysteries and adventure, you will like this book.
