Billy, Old Dan and Little On (a boy and his two dogs) are very good hunters. They have had years of training so they are very good at finding raccoons. Billy’s nice old grandpa told him about a contest for hunting ‘coons and Billy entered his dogs in it. To unravel the interesting story read Where The Red Fern Grows.

Where the Red Fern Grows is about an unending and an incredible relationship between a boy and his dogs. Billy is a boy who can’t wait until he gets his coon hounds. When he does, he wants to spend every minute coon hunting with them. When his grandpa enters him in a contest, his love gets even stronger. What is waiting for that team now?

I recommend this book to everyone who loves dogs; but with a warning, for Where the Red Fern Grows gets very sad.
