| Reviewer: Ashley B. '07 Who’s Mandie? begins when Mandie Shaw is walking home
from school with her friend, Joe. While they are walking, a buggy car drives by and throws
something out into the woods. Mandie soon discovered that it was a cat that was thrown
out. The cat follows Mandie home and her father says she could keep it in the barn because
her mother doesn’t like cats. The cat and her new kitten get into the house one day
and Mrs. Shaw is very upset. While the cat is inside, it catches a rat, and Mrs. Shaw
hates rats! She rewards the cat by letting it stay in their house.
I do not like this book as much as others I have read
because the author spends too much time describing parts of the book that aren’t
important. I would rate this book a 4 out of 10.
