| Reviewer: Sarah S. '09 Daine has a special way with animals that gets her a job with the royal horse
mistress for the queen of Tortall. Although she tries to hide it, it's obvious that her
knack with animals is downright magical!
Soon she is learning about her magic and discovers that if there is an immortal
around, such as a griffin, stormwing, or dragon, she is aware of it before it is in sight.
Trouble is here and many lives, animals and humans, depend on her
learning her lessons. But something happens that makes people want to kill her. Can
she make herself continue her lessons? Or can she make herself trust humans
again?
This is my favorite book of the quartet because it has lots of
mystery and involvement with the immortals and gods. I have read it ten
times!

Wild Magic was the best book I have ever read. It had the most descriptive
characters, and I felt like I was a part of the story. Wild Magic was about a
thirteen-year-old girl who had a hard childhood. Later she discovered many people in the
world were not like the raiders who ruined her home. She had a difficult time coping with
the powers she possessed as she learned more about them. On her journeys she met many
interesting animals and people. Will she save her friends and the kingdom of Tortall? I loved Wild Magic. It was a magnificent story and everyone should
have the chance to enjoy it.
