In a Scottish village, a girl named Wise Child is abandoned by her parents. Then a
sorceress named Juniper takes her in kindly. Wise Child is learning everything from
Juniper who teaches her about reading, healing, constellations, Latin, herbs and spices,
and even teaches her a little magic. Then Wise Childs real mother, Meave, who is a
witch, returns. Meave offers Wise Child a luxurious life of fun and beauty. Wise Child has
to choose between Meave and Juniper. Wise Child discovers how much she loves each of them.
Meaves evil magic is forcing Wise Child to go and live with her. Also, a sickness is
spreading through the village. Juniper is blamed for causing that sickness. Since Wise
Child is living with Juniper that puts them both in horrible danger. 12/17/98 |
