As a colonist in the New World, you and the generations of family before you, have lived through times that will go down in the history of the United States as the formative years of a fledgling nation. Imagine that your family, from the very first settler on the Susan Constant on a journey to Jamestown to the colonist questioning the very foundation of rule and law, has experienced more in the 150 plus years of colonization than you can ever comprehend.

In essence, this journal project is a way to try to put the history of colonial America into a sensible, understandable narrative. The characters you will meet represent any of the thousands of colonists who risked their lives to help to establish the United States. During their journeys, they met with heartache, joy, and met many new people.

Enjoy reading the journals of just some of the settlers of this great land!
