The purpose of this experiment was to see if fossils would be crushed by the weight of accumulating rock covering them. To carry out this experiment, a shoebox was built. Also, a sand-plaster mix was built and subjects were placed in it make a fossil environment. Then, the project was commenced. Digging the subjects out and seeing if they were crushed. They were not. And hammer and a screwdriver were used to dig out the subjects in the sand-plaster mix. When they were taken out, it was found that they were NOT crushed by the weight and the hypothesis was accepted.
After completing
the experiment, it was found that almost all the coins were over
subjects, and the experiment could be expanded to find out why.
