The purpose of this experiment was to discover who hits more home runs and has better batting averages in Fenway Park, left-handed hitters or right-handed hitters. To carry out this experiment, the batting statistics of ten lefties and ten right-handers who played for the Boston Red Sox in at least 81 games for six or more years were analyzed. Their batting averages (percentage of at bats in which the batter got a hit) and home run ratios ( at bats per home run) were discovered, and then averaged.

It was discovered that the right-handed hitters had a home run ratio of 39.86 at bats per home run, while the left-handed hitters had a home run ratio of 128.88 at bats per home run. The right-handers, home run ratios were 330.46% better, and therefore they are the better home run hitters in Fenway Park. It was also discovered that left-handed hitters had an average batting average of .295, while the right-handed hitters had an average batting average of .280. The left-handed hitters' batting averages were 5% better, and therefore they are the better batting average hitters in Fenway Park.
