The purpose of this experiment was to find out which paper towel was most absorbent. To carry out this experiment the brands Bounty, Kleenex Viva, and Brawny were used. To measure absorbency, a basin, a graduated cylinder and a stop watch were used. The water was then measured and poured into the basin. Each paper towel was submerged for 20 seconds and was left to drip above the basin for 30 seconds. The water that was left in the basin was measured in milliliters.
After completing the experiment, it was found that Kleenex Viva absorbed the most water. It had the highest average (48.79 ml) of water absorbed. Bounty was not too far behind with an average of 34.68ml of water absorbed. Brawny was the least absorbent with an average of 28.56ml.
