The purpose of this experiment was to determine the difference of how long it takes salt water to freeze and how long it takes filtered water to freeze. To carry out this experiment, six cups were labeled. Three cups had the label "Salt Water" and three cups had the label "Filtered Water". In all of the cups, 250ml of filtered water was added. The three cups labeled "Salt Water" had salt placed into them. They were all placed into a freezer with a steady temperature of -13° Celsius.
After conducting this experiment, it was found that the salt water took an average of 23.75 minutes longer to freeze than the filtered water.
