The purpose of this experiment is to find if males or females
are better at word and color recognition. In this experiment index
cards with clearly written words in different colors will be used.
For all thirty subjects that will be tested the same cards will
be used. The cards will be placed face up in front of the subject
with a blank card on top to cover the first card so there will
not be less time taken. Then a stop watch will be used to complete
the timing in seconds for each subject. The experimenter will
say go and she will start flipping through the cards. As soon
as the subject stated the correct answer the card will be flipped.
Once the last answer is said the stop watch will be stopped. This
procedure will take place for word and color recognition in males
and females that are being tested.
Once the experiment was
done the data was completed as averages and this is how males
and females are being compared. The average for wordrecognition
in females is 20.9 seconds, for males 24.5 seconds. The color
recognition for females is 16.0 seconds, for males 17.5 seconds. The
females were much faster and had better recognition in both experiments
that were completed.
