The purpose of this experiment was to find out the affects of droughts on worms. To do this experiment 2 aluminum pans, 2 Electricord portable lamps, a hovel, 2 Phillips Director 100 Watt Light Bulbs, Fresh Soil, a Stopwatch, 28 Nightcrawler worms, 28 Earthworms, 64 Ounces of water, and a measuring cup were needed. When the items were gathered the fresh soil was put into two aluminum pans. To test what the effects droughts on worms were with droughted out land put the fresh soil pans over the two Electricord lamps for 2 hours so the fresh soil becomes harder. For the fresh soil put the 2 pans under the light and at the beginning put 64 (32 between the two pans) ounces of water on the pans. During both kinds of the experiment check to see if any worms died and record the data. The Nightcrawlers had the best times thanks to their long body. The Earthworms had a hard time find air with their small body.

In the concluding part of this experiment, the data of all the worms deaths proved that the worms stayed alive longer in the fresh soil since they had more air and the Nightcrawlers stayed alive the longest thanks to their big body.
