The purpose of this experiment was to determine the which fin design produced the greatest maximum altitude. To perform the experiment, 4 Wizard model rocket kits were bought. They were built with each rocket having a different fin design. One was the packaged design. One was larger than that. One was smaller than the packaged design, and one was smaller than that. The model rockets were launched with A8-3 model rocket engines. Their maximum altitude was measured by two clinometers each 50 meters east and west of the launch pad. The height was measured in meters.

After three launches of each fin design was launched, the averages were found, and the data was compared. The rocket with the smallest fins traveled a mean height of 164.8 meters. The rocket with the largest fin design traveled a mean height of only 106.8 meter average.
