The purpose of this experiment
was to determine which brand of popcorn, Orville Redenbacher,
Newman's Own, Best Yet, and Jolly Time, pops the highest percentage
of kernels out of 100. To do this, 100 kernels of popcorn were
popped, and the number of popped and unpopped kernels were compared.
This was done four times and then an average of the total of popped
and unpopped kernels was found. It was found, contrary to the
stated hypothesis, that Best Yet has the highest percentage of
popped kernels out of 100, popping 87% of its kernels. Not far
behind was Jolly Time which popped 84.2% of its kernels. Less
than two percent away from that was Orville Redenbacher which
popped 82.5% of its kernels. Last was Newman's Own which popped
only 78% of its kernels.
