The purpose of this experiment was to compare the severity of
hurricanes
in El Nino, La Nina seasons, and neither (control). To carry out
this
experiment, much information was found on the deaths, property
damage, and
average catastrophic levels (cat. level), caused by the hurricane
in each of
the three seasons (shown above). Next, charts and graphs were
created to show
the information in pictorial form, and helped make the conclusion
much easier
to understand for me and the reader. Once these graphs and charts
were
created, the act of analyzing process began.
After completing the charts and graphs, it was found that
El Nino caused
the most property damage, average amount of property damage, average
number
of deaths, and the total number of deaths. It was concluded that
El Nino
caused the more dangerous hurricanes while La Nina caused hurricanes
with the
highest average catastrophic level. And the Control (neither El
Nino or La
nina seasons) seemed to be the average of El Nino and La nina.
