Students will practice and enhance their speaking skills in Spanish by chosing and acting one or two scenes from the novel "La Catrina la Noella". These scenes will be taped in class and then edited .

1. Students will memorize a scene in Spanish from the book "La Catrina la Novella". They may add filming directions in English. Students should sketch and organize their ideas before shooting any tape in order to get the footage they want and to avoid reshooting.

2. Students will familiarize themselves with the Sony Digital camera by filming classmates and practicing various techniques in class before actually filming their scenes.

3. Students will take a tutorial on the iMovie application in the CALC room in order to learn how to edit, use video effects, add and delete clips, sounds, music, transitions, titles and credits.

4. Students will film more footage than needed (1 -2 minutes) in order to be able to edit and create a more organized and effective commercial of approximately 1-minute. Students will be responsible for using appropriate props, backdrops, costumes, etc. to produce a realistic and believable scene of the book.

5. Students will view each others scene and evaluate them.

Students will practice and enhance their speaking skills in Spanish by acting in the chosen scenes

Students will learn how to use the Sony Digital camera, import digital video into a movie on the iMac computer, and edit their work using iMovie.
