This week, the week before GA-PC day,
has been filled with students seemingly continuing Halloween celebrations, as hippies,
Hawaiian girls, eagles fans, and pajama-clothed students swarm around the hallways. Its Spirit Week! Last Friday, the senior classs spirit week
fashion show displayed the themes for each day leading up to GA-PC day. As students from the senior class paraded onstage
presenting the dos and donts for each designated theme, the
freshmen, sophomores, and juniors watched the comedic show, planning accordingly for the
week ahead.
Spirit week started off with Philly
Pride day on Monday. Eagles, Flyers, Sixers,
and Phillies outfits were everywhere. Tuesday,
pajama day, students came dressed in their most relaxing clothingsleepwear! Unfortunately, naptime was not included. Wednesday was titled Decade Day, where students
could pick a decade and dress accordingly. Poodle
skirts, inside-out sweatshirts, and hippie sunglasses were only some of the many outfits
seen around the GA Upper School. There were
even some people from the late 1800s spotted walking around.
Hawaiian shirts were all the rage on
Thursday, which was Tropical Day. Girls
rustled around the hallways in grass skirts, and flower necklaces hung around many
peoples necks, transforming GA into a tropical paradise.
Spirit week came to a close on Friday, when students excitement and enthusiasm for
GA-PC day reached a peak. School spirit was
shown in each persons outfit, and GA-PC day shirts were everywhere. The hallways were filled with masses of red,
black, and blue while students admired their handiwork and that of their peers on hallway
decorating. The freshman class designed their
hallway to look like Candyland (and yes, they had the candy as well as the land),
the sophomores took their long hallway and transformed it into a walk through the movie Willy
Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the juniors theme was Hollywood, and the
seniors displayed Superheroes, which matched the GA-PC day shirts they had designed.
Friday was also the annual Senior
Stroll, and finally the all-school Pep Rally in the Big Gym. Everyone is looking forward to an exciting GA-PC
day and cheering GA on!
