Oberkircher Field at Sisters' Woods

Baseball Field
GA’s baseball field is situated on its own picturesque plateau right next to the beautiful Preserve.
Carey Stadium
Carey Stadium is frequently compared to college stadiums due to its size and state-of-the-art facilities. With its own address at 310 Morris Road, the stadium is a multi-sport facility with artificial turf, snack bar, and restrooms. The field is used by the football, boys and girls soccer and boys lacrosse teams, while the track hosts Middle and Upper School boys and girls track and field dual meets, league championships and All-Comers meets during the summer.
Softball Field
The softball field is situated right next to beautiful woods and alongside the cross country trail.
Playing Field
This playing field is a natural grass field. It can be lined for lacrosse, soccer, and softball.
Dovey Family Field
The Dovey Family Field is a natural grass field. It can be lined for lacrosse, soccer, and football.

Tennis Courts
The 12 court tennis complex is built to USTA competition standards and is played on by both the boys and girls tennis teams. The courts are also used by physical education classes and the GA Summer Programs tennis camp.
Griswold and Connor Fields
This artificial turf field is lined for girls soccer and Middle School baseball.
Cross Country Course
The 5K course features challenging terrain as it winds its way around all of GA's athletic fields. Though it starts on the paved walkways through The Preserve, the course quickly switches to grass and eventually wooded paths before a dramatic finish on the track inside Carey Stadium.
Class of 1888 Bridge
The Class of 1888 Bridge is known as one of the most beautiful spots on GA’s 126 acre campus. It crosses the Wissahickon Creek and connects the academic side of campus to the athletic complex, Preserve, and outdoor classrooms.
Wissahickon Creek and Green Ribbon Trail
Canoeing, fishing, water analysis, animal exploration and photography are just a few examples of activities which happen in this area. The Green Ribbon Trail is a 12.6-mile recreational trail that is tended to by the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association. The Trail shadows the Wissahickon Creek and winds through our campus.
Preserve
GA’s Preserve is six acres of unbridled nature. Here you can find salamanders, frogs, and a large variety of native birds and plants. Students become stewards of their surroundings and frequently study the area with their science and art classes.
Observation Dock and Pond
The Observation Dock provides plenty of seating for taking in a breathtaking view as well as learning during an outdoor science class. The gate to the pond can be opened so students can analyze water samples.
Outdoor Classroom I
The Outdoor Classroom, located in The Preserve, is a circular area where students and teachers can be immersed in nature. Taking their cues from being outdoors, students work on different types of curriculum such as poetry writing, sketching, and nature identification.

Academic Courtyard & Garden
Positioned between the Middle and Upper Schools, students spend plenty of time in the Academic Courtyard. There they learn about composting, gardening, and organic farming, with some of their home-grown vegetation used in our Dining Hall recipes!
Matthew’s Place 1st to 5th Grade Playground
The 1st-5th Grade Playground features a zip line, cliff riders, swings, including a multi-person basket swing, a parkour course, slides, sand, gaga pits, and even a castle ruin. Students have fun and can take new risks as they play and explore.
Little Patriots Park PreK/Kindergarten Playground
The PreK and Kindergarten playground features swings, including a multi-person basket swing, a large sand play area, slides, a stage, and more. There’s fun around every corner.
Connor Quad
As the hub of our school, Connor Quad hosts Germantown Academy’s opening of school when the entire school gathers at Flag Raising. In June, friends and family come together for graduation. Throughout the year Connor Quad is also where students play frisbie, jump in the leaves, and participate in outdoor experiments.
Bus Lane
Abramson Lower School
McLean Hall is an exciting place to be for our 1st -5th graders. There are iPads for every student, a Lower School-only library, and plenty of opportunities for learning. Students might be seen wearing colonial garb, producing digital media projects and/or presenting their own writing pieces to their peers.
Sapling Center
Nestled in our 126-acre campus, the Sapling Center for Early Learning serves infants through 3-year-olds with a warm, nurturing environment. Our curriculum fosters social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development while building strong partnerships with families.
Sapling Center-Toddlers
Our Sapling Center one-year-olds have days filled with fun, friendship, and discovery through playground adventures, stroller rides, and hands-on learning.
Sapling Center-Infants
The Sapling Center-Infants house is a home away from home. Our littlest Patriots are loved, nurtured, and cared for every step of the way.
Alter Middle School
Alter Middle School houses 6th-8th grade students and faculty. Classes are deliberately small, so students feel comfortable and are engaged with the subject.
McNeil Upper School
From the Harkness Tables to the House spaces to the science labs, GA faculty encourage 9th-12th grade students to think deeply and to ask questions, to investigate and to discover, and to learn with and from one another. Excellent preparation for college and beyond is paramount, yet opportunities to explore a well-rounded course of study and to pursue an individual passion are at the forefront.
Administration Building
Modeled after the original school house in Germantown from more than 250 years ago, the Administration building is home to Admission and other support departments. It is also home to the original, historic bell that is rung at the beginning of the year, graduation, and in honor of athletic championships!
Roberts Family Library
Roberts Library & Technology Center is the place for studying, reading, participating in a multi-divisional game of chess and doing research with up-to-date technology. Roberts Library is the hub that connects the Middle and Upper Schools and with its beautiful floor to ceiling windows, it’s the perfect spot for hunkering down and reading a good book.
Beard Center for Innovation
The BCI, as it is commonly known, is the heart of GA’s cutting-edge creativity. Students from every division go there to write on the moveable walls, work on robots and rockets, and design with multiple 3-D printers. Collaboration is key, and teachers of history, English, the arts and science take advantage of the space for student projects that involve critical thinking and problem solving.
Honickman Auditorium
The Honickman Auditorium is a 325-seat meeting and performance space for the GA community. It is used primarily by the Middle School for theater productions and divisional meetings.
Arts Center
The Arts Center is the hub of GA’s creative energy. Here you will find multiple art studios, music classrooms for band and orchestra, a darkroom and photography classroom, digital media studio, sound booth and mixing board, and a 525 seat theater.
Korman Family Pavilion
The Pavilion is the heart of GA, where all worlds converge as students study, have a break and/or socialize. Upon entering and participating in a security check, visitors proceed through to the Middle School on the left or the Upper School on the right. Above the Pavilion is the Roberts Library & Technology Center and the Beard Center for Innovation. The School Store sells GA spirit wear, snacks and various grab-n-go lunch items.
Dining Room
The GA Dining Room is open for breakfast, morning break (VERY popular with Middle and Upper students) and lunch. It offers a variety of nutritious options for Grades 3-12. Additionally, the space looks like something from Harry Potter’s Hogwarts with hanging house flags and a wooden buttressed ceiling. Our younger grades eat in a smaller cafeteria located right in the Lower School.
Common Room
The Common Room is connected to the Dining Room and provides additional seating for students and faculty. It also provides a space for medium-sized events.
Goodman House
The Goodman House, located at the entrance to GA, houses the Office of Institutional Advancement which directs alumni and parent relations, school-wide marketing, communications and social media, and fundraising efforts for the Annual Fund, capital campaigns, and Planned Giving programs.
Parents' Room
The Parents’ Room is a large multi-function space that offers a variety of setups for parent meetings, faculty events, and student clubs.
The Griswold Gym
Complete with brand new stadium seating, the Big Gym serves as a competition space for boys and girls basketball, wrestling and volleyball, as well as physical education classes. The Big Gym is also filled up during all-school events such as the annual CSO Holiday Program and the giant pep rally for GA-PC Day.
Small Gym
Basketball practice, wrestling duels and physical education classes throughout the school are all housed in the Small Gym. Off the gym, there is a team room with a SMART Board. Below the gym is the school’s health office and athletic training room.
Swimming Pool
The 25 yard, 6 lane pool is not only the training ground of several GA Olympic swimmers, but it is also where grades PreK to 12 take swimming lessons and learn about water safety. The pool is home to boys and girls Middle and Upper School swimming and diving teams and Upper School boys and girls water polo.
Field House
The Field House is an indoor athletic space with 15,000 square feet and has basketball and volleyball courts, a batting cage, and indoor track.
The Annex
The Annex is adjacent to the Field House and comprises 14,000 square feet of floating hardwood, dedicated to boys and girls basketball, volleyball, and physical education classes.
Health & Wellness Center
The 25,000 square foot, two-story facility is located between the fieldhouse, pool, and Connor Quad. The top floor features access to the Nurses Suite, Hall of Athletic Achievement, Patriot Café, both gyms, the pool, and The Jordan Center. The lower level is home to a Wellness Room and Multipurpose Room , as well as offices for the Athletic Department and the athletic trainers.
