At Germantown Academy, we believe that learning is a lifelong, collaborative process. Our talented and dedicated faculty are committed to helping curious students grow into thoughtful, caring, and engaged citizens in our world. In the Lower School, our approach to teaching and learning is active, mission-driven, and growth-oriented. We merge the developmental needs of young learners with our college-preparatory program in order to meet students where they are in an engaging, future-ready curriculum.

In the Middle School at Germantown Academy, students learn more about and explore the world, their communities and themselves through academics, arts, athletics, theatre, advisory activities, grade-level activities, student-led conferences, service learning, and more. They develop self-awareness and acquire the skills to engage meaningfully with school life and grow into independent, confident, compassionate, collaborative, and honorable human beings. 

The Germantown Academy Upper School offers a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum geared toward allowing each student to pursue their own path to individual excellence. Our Upper School curriculum consists of an array of challenging liberal arts classes that engage students in each discipline while also affording them opportunities to pursue their strengths and interests intensively. All our sequential academic programs offer students both regular college preparatory and honors or Advanced Placement preparation classes. In our Math, Science, and some Modern Language courses, we offer three levels of study for each core course, allowing students to progress at their own pace. Upper School students also work with our team of experienced college counselors who are committed to guiding students through a holistic, highly individualized, student-centered, and student-driven college search process. 

Students across all 3 divisions engage in serving our local communities through the Community Service Organization (CSO). There are all-school efforts and division specific initiatives that help make service efforts tangible, translating social awareness from an abstract concept to something that is practiced daily.
