Getting to GA
Arriving By Car
Drop-off each morning occurs between 7:30 and 8am and pick-up begins at 3pm. Several members of the GA faculty and security staff are on-hand to assist in providing a safe environment for all community members.
Arriving By Bus
18 school districts within 10 miles of Fort Washington provide transportation for students to and from GA (Abington, Centennial, Central Bucks, Cheltenham, Colonial, Hatboro-Horsham, Lower Merion, Lower Moreland, Methacton, Norristown, North Penn, Perkiomen Valley, Philadelphia - restrictions apply, Springfield, Upper Dublin, Upper Merion, Upper Moreland, and Wissahickon).
Arriving By Train
Germantown Academy is located directly across from the Fort Washington train station. Students who use SEPTA take the Lansdale/Doylestown from the suburbs and city each day. There is a cross walk over Bethlehem Pike and another over Morris Road for students to travel safely. Many students use this public transportation in groups.
Philadelphia School District Only
The district will provide transportation for students in Grades 1 through 8. A Student Fare Card can be provided for students in Grades 8 through 12 who are registered with GA as needing transportation. A Student Fare Card is used to board a SEPTA trolley, bus, subway, and regional rail.
